Conversations with my mind (1)... This thing called religion!!!

When the colonizers came...
They saw no similarity between the god they preached and the one African supreme being
We were lost in sin... lost in darkness... lost in shame
So we adopted chains of mental slavery
And forgot that we had a god...
who was omnipotent... omnipresent..
who was holy and invisible...
We built him shrines and offered sacrifices like Abraham did
We played him drums and danced praises like David did
We prayed to him for miracles and rain, like Jesus did
But now those ways are deemed pagan now

We cant believe that our forefathers worshiped 'idols'
and the irony is you will see Africans now in the front rows of religious wars
Sometimes I think that religion is another invention of greed
created to cause divide!
The funny thing is, it is a taboo to question it or reason with it
Other times i think it is a way for the hopeless to find peace
For some, their point is to get rich... trust me... the gospel artists know this
The preachers teach this

Sometimes I try to reason with the Bible to find an Africans place
Are we really the descendants of Ham!
who laughed at his naked father
Could this dark skin resemble... sin or does it mark power?
Because in the beginning, out of darkness came light
In that way light was created from darkness
So why should it be a symbol of weakness?
The great rift valley marks the home of life
Learn your history so you may walk with pride
We are no more less than anyone because of the or the God we pray to...
We are equals as human beings
God is too Great to be prayed to through one channel
Anyway, we will forever create channels to rise above each other!
Humans are the worst animals in this world!!!

The loyalty Pledge (Kenya)

I pledge my loyalty to the President
and Nation of Kenya
My readiness and duty
to defend the flag of our Republic
My life, strength and service
in the task of nation building
In the living spirit embodied
in our National motto 'Harambee'

and perpetuated in the
Nyayo philosophy
of Peace, Love and Unity.

Thinking Moi’s dictatorship!
As children we had to make the pledge!
In our rags!
With no shoes on!
Bribed with milk (maziwa ya nyayo for staying so loyal)
We recited the words out loud
Religiously we recited at the school assembly
Attention we stood when recited or else we would face the wrath of the cane!

'Be water my friend!' Luki - Luki the Monster

Take all the forms and shapes circumstances throw you in and rise above them all! Fit in bottles, sit in a glass, flow down a mountain, sip down  the soil - smile at it it and rise above as you join the clouds! Be water my friend as Bruce Lee said.
Art is the purest expression of life! It’s so vast and is always evolving!
For me it’s about being true to myself despite other people’s opinions and thoughts of how my life should be lived.  Art comes so honestly and purely, I don’t doubt its intentions. It makes me believe in my uniqueness and self-expression, and that we all should always strive to be the best version on ourselves. I mean, we only have one life to live, so we should live it to the fullest.       My art is a mix of many genres of music that have inspired me throughout my not so long existence.  With music, I feel that I can communicate more directly and precisely no matter the language as opposed to just having a conversation.  As a rapper, cyphers have given me the …

There shall be showers of blessings!

There shall be showers of blessings... Showers of blessings from hearts that we meet There will be moments we will be mad at each other But the memories we create will surpass all the storms we have faced....
To our dearest, Charles Lwande Every thought of you is warm like the beautiful sun at noon We marched in to sing our hearts out, We marched in to Piss off the neighbors, win the drink - with a shout With the eating, and the folly, and thefun--
And the lying, and the lusting, and the drink, of the gods
and the dance that we drop to- when we'redone, to the thoughts that burn us like irons And bars we killed like lions We were bonded; as if the same blood ran through our veins We were bonded And I tell you, that you blazed fire
With your guitar, young man... when you stepped on the stage,  when you opened your mouth It was all showers of blessings
every stolen feeling of diamonds, platinum and gold Every chord, every word, every note
poured out of your mouth in passion and song fine boy no pimples… you…
