Damn that's enough

This poem was inspired by an argument I had with my best-friend, Marygorret Mutheu on Tuesday 1st February. Later the same week, on Friday 4th of February, I had a discussion with some friends over dinner on the same topic.

One day I will find that love
I can readily get lost in
Love so true and worth defending
Which gives me a reason to face the day
One day I will be strong to let it consume me!

One day I will find that love
Worth living for, worth dying for, worth fighting for
Worth every breath, worth every strength
One day I will be strong enough to let it rock my world

One day I will find that love
That is as gentle as a dove
But that will still raise me above
That aims to make me see and yearn to achieve greatness
One day I will be strong enough to let it be

One day I will find that love
Worth spending my time and wealth
Worth securing my hopes and dreams in
One day I will be strong enough to trust in it

One day I will find that love
That will wipe my tears and celebrate in my joy
Unconditional and satisfied
One day I will be strong enough to totally believe in it

One day I will find that love, I can rely on
Love so high, so wide, so full, so pure;
I will have to scream! Damn that’s enough!
One day, I am sure I will find that love
Am just not sure how long it will last
But I will be strong to care less!

The loyalty Pledge (Kenya)

I pledge my loyalty to the President
and Nation of Kenya
My readiness and duty
to defend the flag of our Republic
My life, strength and service
in the task of nation building
In the living spirit embodied
in our National motto 'Harambee'

and perpetuated in the
Nyayo philosophy
of Peace, Love and Unity.

Thinking Moi’s dictatorship!
As children we had to make the pledge!
In our rags!
With no shoes on!
Bribed with milk (maziwa ya nyayo for staying so loyal)
We recited the words out loud
Religiously we recited at the school assembly
Attention we stood when recited or else we would face the wrath of the cane!

Naked

Moments... This is what the universe has decided to fill up my life with... Moments of what I could call love - and immense moments of pain -  as if to love the way I do is  a sin Now now Namatsi, please let go - the winds whisper as if they understand me Moments...
Pain... Trust me, this is a poem has escaped its prison It has broken chains, to see the light I never promised it I think my fingers have very big gaps -  when I think am holding so tight - it gets slippery and my stupid heart never reads the signs.... Dear Soul.... please let me not hold anything back when we talk about it Pain...
Dreams... Tell me - how do you love someone who is not kind to the soul? Why this person? what did they do to make you decide to hurt me like so? I wish I was casual with love as everyone else is. I have fought nations to hold you in my arms - all you did was smile and stab my back Tell me - why did you ever come back? My dear lovely heart - Break them all - leave nothing standing Dreams...

'Be water my friend!' Luki - Luki the Monster

Take all the forms and shapes circumstances throw you in and rise above them all! Fit in bottles, sit in a glass, flow down a mountain, sip down  the soil - smile at it it and rise above as you join the clouds! Be water my friend as Bruce Lee said.

Art is the purest expression of life! It’s so vast and is always evolving!
For me it’s about being true to myself despite other people’s opinions and thoughts of how my life should be lived.  Art comes so honestly and purely, I don’t doubt its intentions. It makes me believe in my uniqueness and self-expression, and that we all should always strive to be the best version on ourselves. I mean, we only have one life to live, so we should live it to the fullest.       My art is a mix of many genres of music that have inspired me throughout my not so long existence.  With music, I feel that I can communicate more directly and precisely no matter the language as opposed to just having a conversation.  As a rapper, cyphers have given me the …
